bOLDer People: a show that explores the dynamic lives of older adults in southwestern Indiana and beyond. Let’s listen, learn, and be inspired by their stories of triumph, love, uncertainty, perseverance, and much more. Welcome to the bOLDer People podcast.
bOLDer People strives to preserve the narratives from preceding generations. To do this, we invite older adults to discuss with us, well, just about everything. Once we bring in our guest, we prompt the conversation with a few engaging questions but the direction the episode takes is ultimately up to them. We have explored themes of resiliency, diversity and equity, patience, and much more. To preview one of our episodes, click the play button on the player below!
The bOLDer People podcast is a facet of the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) at the ºÚÁϳԹÏ. At its core, bOLDer People promotes the GWEP's mission, to improve health outcomes for older adults in southwestern Indiana. We believe there is power behind each and every person’s narrative and that the exchange of knowledge through open-minded conversation can educate others and dissolve existing stereotypes. To do this, bOLDer People's host, Dr. Katie Ehlman, discusses a variety of topics with her guest each episode about academics, community involvement, lessons-learned, and much more. Podcast content also touches on exciting innovation happening in the field of gerontology like...
• Living-In-Place
• Dementia-Friendly-Communities
• Age-Friendly Initiatives
• and more!
