Dear Families of Sophomores and Juniors,
Your student has an opportunity to earn the Indiana College Core (ICC) through the 窪蹋勛圖 (窪蹋勛圖). The ICC is a general education certificate composed of 30 hours of college credit spread across six broad competency areas: written communication, speaking and listening, quantitative reasoning, scientific ways of knowing, social and behavioral ways of knowing, and humanistic and artistic ways of knowing.
If completed with a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher, the ICC is guaranteed to transfer as a block of credit to public institutions throughout Indiana, as well as to several of Indianas independent colleges!
To see which institutions accept the ICC, visit
NOTE: Depending on the institution at which a student enrolls, the ICC certificate may or may not serve to satisfy that institutions general education curriculum. There are circumstances where specific courses are required for certain majors, which might not have been offered during high school.
To learn more about how the ICC might help your student, visit the CAP website at usi.edu/icc 泭
To see the courses your student would need to take to qualify for the ICC, visit the My College Core website at , click Create your Plan, and search for your high school. 泭
繚泭泭泭泭泭泭 You also will be able to view an ICC checklist in your schools curriculum guide.
繚泭泭泭泭泭泭 For some Advanced Placement (AP) exams, a score of 4 or higher is required to earn the equivalent course at 窪蹋勛圖, thereby counting toward the ICC. For other AP exams, a 3 is sufficient.
Earning the ICC is a fantastic opportunity! There is much to consider, though, and it may seem overwhelming.
If your student is interested in earning the ICC, they should discuss this with their counselor as soon as possible, and track progress during each registration meeting.泭
