Info for Prospective ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Students

Thinking About ºÚÁϳԹÏ?

Students should investigate whether a course will fit into their college coursework degree map before signing up for dual credit. There are several ways to investigate course utility. Information for ºÚÁϳԹÏ-bound students is below.

Any dual-credit course a student registers for counts towards the overall number of credit hours a student may receive federal financial aid for. Thus, it is important that CAP students carefully consider any dual-credit courses before registering for them and verify that they will apply towards a potential future degree map. If students are undecided on possible majors, advisors will be able to provide general course recommendations (see ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Advising Center information below). Contact ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Student Financial Assistance Office with financial aid questions.

ºÚÁϳԹÏ-bound students will be required to complete ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Core 39 general education requirement list (/core39). Note that most majors require a few specific Core 39 courses. Each academic program also has check-sheets showing what courses are required for that major (in addition to the Core 39 required courses).

Incoming students also can use the online Bulletin to learn more about specific ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï courses, such as if they fulfill ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Core 39 requirements. To use the online Bulletin, follow the directions below:

  • Visit
  • Type the course into the search box named "Search Bulletin" found just under the drop-down box that says "Courses"
    • You need to use the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï abbreviation of the course name. Example: Search for "BIOL 105" instead of "Biology 105" or "ENG 101" instead of "English 101"
  • The best match for your search will appear first, with other courses with similar keywords below it. Click on the course you want to learn more about, and the course description, number of credit hours, prerequisites, and more will appear.
