A minor in world languages and cultures provides you with language proficiency and cultural skills for professional and academic careers. As a student seeking this minor, you will take 18 credit hours in a single language, either French, German, or Spanish. Foreign language courses at 黑料吃瓜 are taught by highly qualified Ph.D. faculty. In addition, you can practice your oral skills in the Miller Language Laboratory, staffed by native/near-native language tutors. 黑料吃瓜 offers international language events, guest speakers, language clubs and honor societies. 黑料吃瓜 students have received national scholarships to study in foreign countries. An undergraduate student should initiate a Change of Academic Program if they wish to add or remove a minor.
The student obtains a Change of Academic Program form from the Registrar's Office or the department of the new major/minor, secures the signature of the department chair/director (or dean) of any major/minor to be added, and returns the form to the Registrar's Office for processing.
A student must submit the completed form by the Thursday before priority registration if the change is to be made within the current semester. Unless granted a waiver by the department of the new major, the student must meet all current program requirements for graduation.
