Science Teaching Overview

A major in science teaching at ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will prepare you for a rewarding career as a high school science teacher. Science teaching may appeal to you if you’re majoring in a natural or physical science, as well as if you’re a professional who decided to switch careers later in life. At ºÚÁϳԹÏ, you will be provided with teaching strategies that include hands-on experiments, field trips and other non-conventional approaches that encourage students to explore the natural and physical world.

The Science Teaching major at ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï is designed to meet the Indiana requirements for teaching licensure in one of the following areas: biology (life sciences), earth and space sciences, chemistry, physics, and physical sciences. In addition to completing the science teaching major requirements, you must complete the secondary education minor to secure a teaching license.
